The Dilsukhnagar twin bomb blasts that took place on February 21, 2013, were carried out by the Indian Mujahideen organization. The NIA court found that the twin blasts killed 17 people and seriously injured 150 others. Yasinan Bhatkal was identified as the mastermind of the case. Meanwhile, the NIA court had sentenced five accused to death in the twin blasts case on December 13, 2016. While the main accused, Mohammed Riaz alias Riaz Bhatkal, is absconding, the remaining five, Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi, Zia ur Rehman alias Waghas, Mohammed Tahseen Akhtar alias Hasan, Mohammed Ahmed Siddibapa alias Yasin Bhatkal, and Ajaz Sheikh alias Samar Armaan Tunde, were sentenced to death by the NIA court. However, the accused challenged the NIA court's verdict in the High Court. After arguments, the High Court dismissed the petition of the accused on April 8 and ruled that the death sentence imposed by the NIA court was correct.

Terrorists planted a bomb in a tiffin box

On February 21, 2013, two blasts took place within a few minutes of each other near the Dilsukhnagar bus stand. Shortly after the first bomb exploded opposite the bus stand, another blast occurred 150 meters away. The terrorists carried out the attack by planting a bomb in a tiffin box. The blasts killed 17 people and injured more than 130. The NIA investigated the blast case. The NIA investigation revealed that Yasin Bhatkal, co-founder of the Indian Mujahideen terrorist organization, Asadullah Akhtar (UP), Zia-ur-Rehman (Pakistan), Tehseen Akhtar (Bihar), and Ajaz Sheikh (Maharashtra) were involved in the attack.
