Donald Trump: Trump government's new bill to cancel OPT for foreign students!
Donald Trump, who has been making serious efforts to curb illegal immigration since he took office as president of the United States, is now taking several decisions targeting foreign students. As part of this, Trump, who has already tightened the issuance of visas and green cards for foreign students , has recently taken another sensational decision. This is going to shock those who are looking for jobs in the United States after graduation.

The Trump administration has introduced a new bill in Congress to repeal the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program that allows foreign students to opt for forced deportation
after graduation . The bill would allow for the forcible deportation of foreign students, including Indians, after graduation. OPT is a 12-month program for international students after graduation. It allows them to stay and work there for up to 10 years. Donald Trump has tried to cancel OPT in the past during his first term due to his tough
stance on immigration
. Now, in the wake of the tough stance on immigration, the proposal to cancel OPT has come to the fore once again. This has caused fear among F1 and M1 visa holders. They are now trying to get job offers on H-1B visas. According to the Open Doors 2024 report, more than 3 lakh Indian students enrolled in US educational institutions in the 2023-24 academic year.
Now, if OPT is canceled, they will have to go home. Many Indian students in the US are already canceling their summer vacation trips, fearing whether they will return.
