Former MLA bids goodbye to Congress!

Hyderabad: After resigning from BRS and joining the Congress party, Koneeru Konappa has bid farewell to Congress just a few months later. He announced that he would now function independently. In the recent graduates' MLC elections, he refrained from supporting the Congress candidate and instead pledged support to BSP candidate Prasanna. Konappa joined Congress on March 6 last year in the presence of CM Revanth Reddy but could not adapt to the party due to internal politics and a lack of attention to his concerns.

Konappa, who had previously won as a BSP candidate and later joined BRS, was dissatisfied with the party’s direction and internal conflicts. During the last election, the BJP emerged victorious in Sirpur due to vote splitting when BSP's Praveen Kumar contested. Later, Praveen Kumar joined BRS, leading to Konappa's decision to join Congress. However, even after joining Congress, his proposals were not approved, and the development work he brought to his constituency was canceled, leaving him dissatisfied. Congress leader MLC Dande Vitthal's influence in the region also added to his frustrations.

Konappa, once a close ally, became estranged due to the lack of support from the Congress leadership. He expressed his discontent over the lack of attention to his constituency and the cancellation of important developmental works. At a recent public event, he announced that he would contest future elections as an independent candidate, emphasizing that he would take political decisions in the interest of the people. He also criticized the current government, accusing them of canceling development projects like bridges and roads, which had been sanctioned by CM KCR, and lamented that his repeated appeals to ministers had gone unnoticed.
