Rafale Fighter Jet: Agreement with France for Rafale Marine fighter jets

The Indian government has signed a deal with France to buy 26 Rafale Marine combat aircraft, defence sources said on Wednesday. The deal, worth over Rs 63,000 crore, is likely to be formally signed in the coming weeks. The deal will see the Indian Navy induct 22 single-seater jets and four twin-seater variants.Fleet management, logistical support, training, indigenously manufactured componentsFrance will provide a comprehensive package for the Rafale Marine Jets, which will significantly enhance the Navy's air power at sea.

The Rafale Marine Advances version of the Rafale fighter jets will be delivered to the Indian Navy by the end of 2029. The deal will be completed by 2031. These jets will operate from India's aircraft carriers INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant. They will replace the old MiG-29K aircraft.
